Mary Visser’s studio practice is centered around experimentation and the invention of placeless spaces.
“I collect numerous images of fashion, interiors and art along with compositional studies, colour experiments and scraps of studio detritus. These images and non-images that end up scattered on the studio floor trigger chance happenings in my paintings. I deliberately make a mess and then try and fix it or make it right. "
